Weight Loss and Insulin Resistance

Here are some ideas that you can try if you are wanting to shed a few pounds:

  • Exercise, exercise, exercise

  • Reduce stress, acupuncture can help!

  • Get enough sleep, 8-9 hours per night

  • Try a Coleus herbal supplement

  • Drink more green tea, it speeds up metabolism

  • Eat half of a grapefruit in the morning

  • Take a Licorice supplement if you don’t have high blood pressure or edema

  • Try Gymnema, a tablet placed on your tongue before meals to block the sweet taste & control appetite

  • Take some digestive bitters before a meal, these might contain gentian or wormwood

  • Eat bitter vegetables like dandelion greens, chicory, kale, and bitter melon

Having too much abdominal body fat can cause insulin resistance and diabetes, which can lead to:

  • high triglycerides, low HDL, high LDL levels
